Each year the Capital Region Solid Waste Management Partnership (CRSWMP) must submit a report to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation on the progress of the recycling programs within the planning unit. The success of these programs is measured through the amount of recyclable materials diverted* from the landfill. Our Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP)** sets goals for the CRSWMP to follow with a goal of reaching 65% by the year 2020. Below is our progress to date.

Each year we solicit input from as many commercial, industrial and institutional entities within the planning unit as possible in order to gage how much they are recycling. This data is then included in the report to DEC.  NOTE: This information is used only for reporting purposes and is not a recycling audit.

If you fit the above criteria and would like to help us achieve our goals we invite you to fill out the survey below.  If you have already done so we thank you for your support in this effort.
